Welcome to Treasury of Castles
All my life I have been in love with castles. There is a history about them, there is wonder, amazement, curiosity and intrigue. Walking through a castle is like stepping back in time and walking in the same footsteps of people from hundreds of years ago. Knowing their stories, and being able to walk through the castles if only through pictures and videos is wonderful. So take a trip through the castles of the world with me, and I encourage each of you to visit a castle, take lots of pictures and then share them with us here. We can never get enough!

Ambras Castle

Ambras Castle situated outside of Innsbruck Austria. Documented in the 11th century, refurbished 1529 to 1595. Art collection and armory founded by Archduke Ferdinand II.

Schloss Belvedere, Vienna, Austria

Prince Eugene of Savoy (1663-1736) was the architect that designed and built this home as a summer residence. Schloss Belvedere is actually two castles, an upper and lower castle. The upper palace was used mainly for larger social occasions while the Lower Belvedere was used as a residence that was lived in during the summer months by the Prince.
